Andrew Allan

Obituary of Andrew Robert Allan

Andrew Robert Allan, passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Albert Hospice House on September 10th, 2023, at the age of 35, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife Katelyn Daigle, his daughter Marlee Allan, and his parents and step mother, Jean Allan, Rob Allan and Krista Allen, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his step father, Larry Menchion, also known as his second hand dad.

Andrew was born on April 12th, 1988 in Gander, Newfoundland. As a teenager, Andrew was known to be quite the daredevil, flying over snowboard jumps, sledding across lakes, ripping around on his dirtbike, you name it, he would have given it a go. Once Andrew graduated from high school, he received his welding certificate and soon headed out west for work. Andrew was known to have an entrepreneurial spirit at a young age. When he made his way back east we really watched it bloom. He grew his businesses: 1media, Sheds R Us, and Allan Customs.

Andrew was a devoted husband, father, son, dog dad, and a friend to many. He adopted his beloved dogs, Louis and Vinnie, in 2015 and they became a huge part of his life and were always by his side.

Andrew met the love of his life, Katelyn, in early 2017. They spent 6 wonderful years together creating memories that will last a lifetime. They created a home for one another where they grew together. They brought their little girl Marlee into this world. He was so proud to be her Dad. He was a man of many talents. Andrew had an eye for photography, from capturing the great outdoors to precious moments, he had a way of sharing a story through his photos.

The same expertise shone through in his welding and woodworking. Andrew enjoyed sharing his beautiful thoughtful work with family and friends. He was always up for the task of making whatever was requested of him.

When he wasn't working in his workshop, you could find Andrew out on the golf course. Monday night men's night with his buddies brought him so much joy.

Apart from his wife Katelyn and Daughter, Marlee, Andrew's dirt bike would be next in line to his most prized possession.

Andrew had an unforgettable smile and laugh. Even on the toughest of days during his battle with cancer, you could still catch that amazing smile. He will always be our hero.
