Obituary of Carolyn Ann Cormier

Carolyn Ann Cormier passed away with family by her side at the Moncton Hospital on May 20, 2024.

Born in Chatham, NB she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Mary “Maisie” (Trevors) McKay, and by her uncle Allan and aunt Annie McNaughton who brought Carolyn up.  Carolyn started her career in nursing at the Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Campbellton where she enjoyed many years. She retired from the Moncton Hospital in 2011. Carolyn was a member of the Order of International Pythian Sisters, the Sunset Temple #36, Tidal Wave Temple #16 and Saxby Temple #35. Carolyn was the Past Grand Chief of the Maritime Provinces in 2008 Pythian Sisters. Carolyn was a proud volunteer for the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Red Cross.  She was a life time member of the NB Conservative Association and served as Past President of the Moncton East Conservatives. Carolyn was an adherent of St. Andrews Anglican Church and Past Worden There of.  

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 52 years, Romeo J. Cormier; sons, Jeffrey Cormier (Christine Francoeur) of Moncton, and Jonathan Cormier and his wife Jennifer of Fredericton; grandchildren and the joy of her life, Jorja and Jersie; sister, Thelma (Laurie) Cormier of Memramcook; brother, Ron McKay and his wife Wendy of Bathurst; also, by several nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was predeceased by her infant sister Shirley; brother, Burton and his wife Sheila.

Visitation will be held at Fergusons Riverview Funeral Centre, 214 Pine Glen Rd., Riverview, NB, on Friday, May 24th between the hours of 1:00 pm till 4:00 pm, with a Funeral Service being held in Fergusons Riverview Community Chapel at 7:00 pm with Rev. Rob Salloum officiating followed by a reception.
